Creating a doll or something else!

Today’s class was about making dolls out of cloth. We did collage before in Tara ma’am’s class but we had never made a doll. We needed cloth, string, some cotton like things and glue. We used the cotton for filling the insides of the doll. We could make whatever we wanted with the cloth. So I made an alien from mars. It was pretty confusing to make the dolls. Most of us had made normal people but me and Tara ma’ am made aliens. Whoever had finished making their dolls had to paste lots of random clothes to a box to make it so that it could be recognized as the art box. After I finished making my doll, I had the job to put glue on every side of the box. And after we finished making the box we wrapped up all the clothes in a sack.

From Tara ma’am’s perspective

Material cloth: “creating a doll or something else!“

·      Start the lesson with a clap circle“, to get everybody focused

·      Then explain the topic of today: making dolls with a character, that everyone should be able to explain it after finishing it to the group like who is the doll, what is she/he wearing etc.

·      Make clear in the beginning that there are no rules how to make it! Everybody is invited to make what ever he/ she wants. Be creative!

·      Help each other! Try to keep quiet, listening to the music or talk quiet, whoever finished their work   can go out, but not disturb the others!

·      We also made a construction to hang the dolls up

·      At the end of the lesson we created a art box“ for our tools that we need in every session.
