Road pitching factory

After climbing the cliff we came at a road pitching factory. We went inside the factory to find out a little bit about it. After entering the factory we saw 4 containers. There was a conveyor belt placed under the containers. We talked with the manager of the factory. His name was Dilli Prasad Adhikari. He told us that he was a teacher for 27 years before he became the manager of the factory. Then he gave us some information about the factory.

The factory is called the Asphalt Concrete factory. He told us that the first container had stone dust inside it, second had sand, the third one had 6 mm aggregate inside it and the last one had 16 mm aggregate inside it. They were pulled down to the conveyor belt and the conveyor belt carried them to the mixer. Then they are cooked and 150 degree bitumen is ready and it is mixed with the rocks. Every minute 800 kgs of the mixture falls down inside the trucks. He also told that when you pitch a road you must use 5 machines. The first machine is the compressor which is used to clean the road. Second is the distributer that is used to distribute bitumen all over the road. The third is the paver, the fourth is the roller and the last machine is the nermatic roller.

 We thanked him for telling us about everything. After that I helped Kusma and Utkrishta take some photos and we joined the others to return to the school.
